Process Paper
We chose our topic, the Abolitionist Movement, because when we were thinking of ideas of major turning points in history, one of our choices was the Abolitionist Movement. We thought it was the most important because it shows of how the abolition of slavery affected many people all around the world.
First, we thought of three things that were most important to leading up to the death of slavery:
Next, we researched Abraham Lincoln, the 13-15 Amendments, and the Abolition of Slavery. We found interesting information through primary sources at the Library of Congress and the National Archives, and secondary sources interpreting these texts and explaining the historical context.
Last, we decided to create the project on a website. On the website, we typed the text, designed the pages and added pictures with links and captions, wrote a bibliography and we even made a picture bibliography.
Our project relates to the theme of Turning Points because the Abolitionist Movement changed the lives of slaves and all US Citizens.
